A wood elf dragon, from Games Workshop. I painted this thing up on commision for John. Its an imposing model to assemble, since I do admit I'll rather paint than put things together.
The model came in many pieces. 2 wings, the head, a foot, a leg and foot, about 3 or 4 tail pieces, the neck, the rider, his arm with the spear, his chair and that skirt of his. Almost everything needed to be drilled and pinned, so the final product can stand up to the abuse of table top gaming. All told, this model took me 10 1/2 hours to do, and I wish the pictures were better, but whatcha going to do? The model was primed white, and several inks and washes were used to help pull out the detail. This model was a learning experiance, since I've only done a few really large models. There is another page of pics, so you can see it at some more angles.
If not for anything else, I'm putting these pics up so other people can see that its possible to actually do one of these things. Perhaps one of these days, i'll write up how I actually painted this thing. After painting this thing, I took a week off from painting..now its on to a Terminator Captian and a Grey Knight....
